Setting Up the Cable Box Controller
Follow the directions below to set up
the cable box controller. Then the
VCR will automatically select the
channel of the cable converter box
when you program a timer recording.
Before you begin, make sure the
VCR, TV, cable converter box, and
cable box controller are all connected
(see pages 38 -41for details).

Go to page 36 and find the code for
your brand of cable converter box.

Press the MENU button to bring up
the main menu display.

Press the Number 6 button to select
CABLE BOX CONTROLLER.

Press the Nun_oer 1button to select
ON. ON will appear on-screen below

Press the MENU button, then enter
the code for your brand of cable con,
verter box.

Press the MENU button. In 15 sec-
onds, the cable box controller will
send a signal to your cable converter
box. If the channel of the cable con-
verter box (channel 2 or channel 9)
appears on-screen, go to step 7. If the
channel of the cable converter box does
not appear on-screen, press the MENU
button, then repeat steps 1 - 5 using
another cable converter box code at
step 5.

Use the Number buttons to enter the
output channel of your cable convert-
er box. For example, if the output
channel of your cable converter box is
3, press Number buttons 0, 3.
