Cable Converter Box Code Setting

Your VCR remote control may be able to oper-
ate your cable converter box. If the remote con-
trol doesn't operate your cable converter box
now, find your brand of cable converter box on
the list atthe right, then follow the steps below
to program your remote control accordingly.

Point the remote control atyour cable convert-
er box and press the CBL button. Then, press
the POWER button. If your cable convener
box comes on, try the other cable converter box
buttons (see pages 14 -15for details). If your
cable converter box doesn't come on, or if the
other buttons don't work, go to step 2.

Find the brand of your cable converter box on
the list at the right, and remember the two-digit
number to the right ofit.

Press andrelease the MUTE button.

Within 30 seconds after releasing theMUTE but-
ton, press and release the CBL button.

Within 30 sedbnds after releasing the CBL but-
ton, use the Number buttons to enter the code
for your cable converter box. For example, if
you ha%e a Zenith cable convener box, press
Number buttons 1,3.

Try step 1again. If the remote conlrol works
your cable converter box, you're finished. If the
remote control still doesn't work your cable con-
verter box,repeat steps 2 - 5, using another code.

•Although the remote control that comes with your VCR will work most
cable converter boxes, it ispossible that the remote control will not
operate your cable converter box.
•If you had to program the remote control to operate your cable convert-
er box here, whenever you replace the batteries in the remote control,
you will have to program the remote control again.
