BASIC OPERATION

7Power Up the CR601

Before connecting the mains cord, complete all connections (☞ page 8 to 10).

1.Connect the mains cord to a suitable wall outlet.

•The CR601 enters Standby mode, and the Standby indicator comes on.

2.To turn on the CR601, press the POWER

ON/STANDBY switch q or button z.

•The CR601 comes on, the display lights up, and the Standby indicator goes off.

•To turn off the CR601, press the POWER

ON/STANDBY switch q or button z again. The CR601 enters Standby mode and the Standby indicator comes on.

7Selecting Sound Sources

1.Use the INPUT button i or . to select one of the following sound sources: CD, DAB, FM, AM, TAPE, MD and DVD.

•The currently selected source is shown on the display.

2.If you selected CD, see “PLAYING CD” on page 12.

•If you selected DAB, see “LISTENING TO DAB BROARDCAST” on page 19.

•If you selected AM or FM, see “LISTENING TO FM/AM” on page 15.

•If you selected TAPE, MD, or DVD, start playback on the relevant component.

7Adjusting the Volume

1.To adjust the volume, use the Master VOLUME knob t, or the VOLUME buttons ¤7.

•Turn the Master VOLUME knob t clockwise to increase the volume, counterclockwise to decrease it.

7Using Headphones

You can connect a pair of stereo headphones to the CR601’s PHONES jack for private listening, as shown.
