8-3. SERVICIO AL FILTRO

Un filtro sucio de aire restringirá el flujo de aire al carburador. Para evitar el mal funcionamiento del carburador, dé servicio al filtro de aire regularmente. Hágalo con más frecuencia al operar el generador en áreas con con- centraciones de polvo extremadamente altas.

ADVERTENCIA

El uso de gasolina o un solvente inflamable para limpiar el elemento del filtro puede causar una explosión o incen- dio. Utilice únicamente agua jabonosa o un solvente no inflamable.

NOTA: Nunca opere el generador sin el filtro de aire. Se ocasionará un desgaste rápido del motor.

1. Retire la tuerca de mariposa de la tapa del compartimiento del filtro (A), quite la tapa del filtro de aire (B), y quite el elemento (C). (Fig. 8-3A et 8-3-B)

2. Lave el elemento en una solución de detergente casero y agua tibia, después enjuague completamente; o lave en un solvente no inflamable o de punto de inflamabilidad alto. Permita que el elemento se seque completa- mente.

3. Sumerja el elemento en aceite limpio para motor y exprima el exceso de aceite. El motor humeará durante el arranque inicial si se dejó mucho aceite en el elemento.

4. Reinstale el elemento del filtro de aire y la tapa.

4. Réinstaller l'élément filtre à air et son capot.

A dirty air cleaner will restrict air flow to the carburetor. To prevent carburetor malfunction, service the air cleaner regularly. Service more frequently when operating the generator in extremely dusty areas.

N Using gasoline or flammable solvent to clean the filter element can cause a fire or explosion. Use only soapy water G or nonflammable solvent.

L NOTE: Never run the generator without the air filter. Rapid engine wear will result.

H 2. Wash the element in a solution of household detergent and warm water, then rinse thoroughly; or wash in non- flammable or high flash point solvent. Allow the element to dry thoroughly.

3. Soak the element in clean engine oil and squeeze out the excess oil. The engine will smoke during initial start- up if too much oil is left in the element.

4. Reinstall the air filter element and the cover
