Receiving

Trunked Systems

1.Turn the radio on and select the desired system and mode (see “Selecting a Trunked System and Mode”).

2.Listen until you hear a transmission, then adjust the volume control for a comfortable listening level.

3.Your radio is now set to receive calls on the selected system and mode.

Note: If the mode selector knob is placed on an unprogrammed system (blank system), the display will show “UNPROGRAMMED” and you will hear an “invalid mode” tone until the mode selector knob is rotated to a programmed (valid) system.

Conventional Modes

1.Turn the radio on and select the desired conventional mode (see “Selecting a Conventional Mode”).

2.Listen until you hear a transmission, then adjust the volume control for a comfortable listening level.

3.Your radio is now set to receive calls on the selected mode. Notes:

If the mode selector knob is placed on an unprogrammed mode (blank mode), the display will show “UNPROGRAMMED” and you will hear an “invalid mode” tone until the mode selector knob is rotated to a programmed (valid) mode.

If the mode is busy, the radio’s red LED will blink in the receive mode.
