Entering Numbers From the Keypad

To enter numbers at the idle screen or any screen
that requires you to ente r numbers, press the
numbers on the keypad.
If you make a mi stake:
•To clear a digit, press A under Delete.
•To clear all digits, press and hold A under
Delete.
•To insert or delete a digit an ywhere in the stri ng
of digits you have en tered, scroll left or right.
•To cancel, press e.
SIM Security
Your SIM stores all your Contacts and protects
your personal information. Since this information is
stored on your SIM, not in your phone, you can
remove the information by removing your SIM.
Note:E xcept for making emergency calls, y our
phone will not function without the SIM.
To prevent unauthori zed use of your phone, your
SIM can be protected by a PIN that you enter each
time the phone is po wered on. You ca n change the
PIN or turn off the requi rement that it be entered.

Turning the PIN Requirement On and

Off

When the SIM PIN requirement is off, your phone
can be used without entering a PIN.
Important: When the SIM PIN requirement is off,
the personal data on your SIM is not
protected. Anyone can use your phone
and access your personal data.
When the SIM PIN r equirement is on, y ou are
prompted to enter your PIN each time you power
on your phone.
UAirplane Mode — Your phone is
set to Airplane Mode. See
“Temporarily Turning Off Calls” on
page 137.

Y ZPacket Data — You are ready to

transfer packet data or are
transferring packet data.
N O TTY — You are ready to use your
phone to make calls using a
teletypewriter device. See “Making
TTY Calls” on page 4 6.
