2Select the number of seconds you want the backlight to stay on.

To set the keypad backlight to light up only in low light conditions:

1From the main menu, select Settings > Display/Info > Backlight > Sensor.

2Set this option to On.

Setting Sleep Mode

Sleep mode turns off your phone’s display if your phone remains idle for a specified interval. Sleep mode conserves battery power.

You can set your phone to enter Sleep mode after 1 minute, 3 minutes, 5 minutes, or 15 minutes of inactivity.

To set the interval for Sleep mode:

1From the main menu, select Settings >

Display/Info > Sleep Mode.

2Select the interval you want.

Temporarily Turning Off Transmissions

Sometimes you may want to have your phone on, but turn off its ability to make and receive calls, such as when you are on an airplane.

Temporarily Turning Off Transmissions

To set your phone so that it cannot make or receive phone calls, Walkie-Talkie calls, Group Walkie-Talkie calls, or Talkgroup calls; or transfer data:

1From the main menu, select Settings > Advanced > Airplane Mode.

2Set this option to On.

Note: While powering on your phone, you can turn on Airplane mode by pressing p for more than 5 seconds.

This icon Uappears.

To restore your phone’s ability to do all these things:

Set this option to Off.

Note: When Transmitters is set to On, your phone’s Bluetooth capability is disabled, and all active Bluetooth connections are dropped.
