Customizing Your Phone
Security FeaturesThe Security menu lets you tu rn security features
on and off and change passwo rds:
• Phone Lock — turns on a feature that locks
your phone: Lock Now takes effect immedi ately;
Auto Lock takes effect when your phon e is
powered off and then on. An unlock code is
required to enable this fea ture, to unlock the
phone, and to set a new unlock code. C ontact
your service provi der for your defau lt unlock
code.
•Keypad Lock — locks the phone’s keypad,
either immediately or automatically after a set
period of inactivity.
• SIM PIN — enables an d disables your pho ne’s
SIM PIN security feature. See “ Turning the PIN
Requirement On and Off” on page 14.
• GPS PIN — enables and disables you r pho ne’s
GPS PIN security feature. See “Setting the GPS
PIN Security Feature” on pag e 12 3.
• Change Passwords — changes your phone
unlock code, security code, SIM PIN, and GPS
PIN.
Advanced FeaturesThe Advanced menu contains adva nced and rarel y
used Settings feature s .
• Alert Timeout — sets the amount of time a tone
continues to sound whe n yo u r ec ei ve a
message notification, call alert, or Datebook
reminder.
• Headset/Spkr — sets head set option. See
“Using a Headset” on page 144.
• Disco Lights — sets the lights in the external
display to light up whe n a musical ring tone
sounds.
Note:Some musical ring tones you download to
your phone may not activa te dis c o lig ht s .
• Connectivity — Network ID sets the phone’s
network IDs and their roa mi ng opti on s un de r the
direction of your servic e prov id er ; Master Reset
lets your service provider reset your service in
the event of a security or provisioning problem.
• Reset Defaults — Reset Settings returns all
settings to their original defaults; Reset All
returns all settings to their original defaults and
erases all stored l ists. Use only unde r the
direction of your service provider.
