Connecting Using Scanner Emulation

To perform Scanner Emulation , connect the scanner to a mobile comput er, or a controller which collects the data

and interprets it for the host.

1. Attach the modular connector of the Scanner Emulation interface cable to the cable interface port on the

scanner (see Installing the Interface Cable on page 1-3).

2. Connect the other end of the Scanne r Emulation interf ace cable to the scanner port on th e mobile computer or

controller.

3. Scan the Scanner Emulation host bar code from Scanner Emu lation Host on p age 10- 4 to enable the Scanner

Emulation host inter fa ce.

4. To modify any other parameter options, scan the appropriate bar codes in this chapter.

NOTE Interface cables vary depending on configuration. The connectors illustrated in Figure 10-1 are examples

only. The connectors may be different than those illustrated, but the steps to connect the scanner remain

the same.

CAUTION Con nect the scanner to 5 volt decoders only. Connecting the scanner to a 12 volt decoder can

damage the scanner and invalida te the warranty.
