New batteries or batteries stored for a long time may take more time to charge.

Motorola batteries and charging systems have circuitry that protects the battery from damage from overcharging.

turn it on & off

To turn on your phone,

press and hold the Power/End Key (%) until the display turns on.

The phone may require

several seconds to turn on. If prompted, use the keypad to enter your four-digit unlock code (which, by default, is the last four digits of your phone number)

and press the Center Select Key (P) (OK) to unlock the phone.

To turn off your phone, press and hold the

Power/End Key (%).

make a call

Enter a phone number, Area Code first, if applicable, and press the Send Key ($) to make a call.

To make a call outside the U.S.A., press and hold * until you see +. Then, dial the country code and phone number, and press the Send Key ($).

answer a call

When your phone rings and/or vibrates, press the Send Key ($) to answer.

When Answer Options is set to the default Flip Open (see page 41), you can answer an incoming call by opening the flip.
