Troubleshooting

Before arranging for service by the NEC Service Center, check the following to be sure repairs are needed.

Problem	Possible Cause	Correction
No Picture or Sound	Power cord unplugged.	Plug in power cord.
	Power outlet inactive.	Be sure wall switch is on and outlet has power.
	Power of external equipment is not ON.	Switch to ON or connect to an active AC outlet.
	External equipment has been incorrectly connected.	Correct all connections.
	Incorrect input selection.	Select correct RGB1, RGB 2, VIDEO 1 or VIDEO 2 source.

Sound OK; poor picture	Improper control setting.	Adjust picture controls as needed.
with VIDEO signal input.	Local interference.	Try another location for the monitor.
	Cable interconnections.	Be sure all connections are secure.

Sound OK; poor picture with	Improper control setting.	Adjust picture controls as needed.
RGB signal input.	Incorrect 15 PIN connector pin connections.	Check pin assignments and connections.

Picture OK; poor or no sound.	Cable interconnections.	Be sure all connections are secure.
	Volume is not adjusted.	Adjust volume.
	Poor audio connections from external source.	Correct audio connections.
	Improper control settings.	Adjust volume controls.
	MUTE key is ON.	Press again to restore sound.

Poor sound from external speakers	Cable interconnections.	Secure all cable connections.
or stereo system speakers	Improper volume setting.	Check volume controls of all components.

Remote control does not work.	Weak batteries.	Install new batteries.
	Obstacle between Remote Control and Sensor	Point remote control directly at Sensor Window.
	Window.
	You are not within the effective operating range.	Use the remote control unit within 30° left and right
		of center (at a distance of within 22ft).
	Incorrect setting of No. 2 pin of the DIP SW.	Set Pin no. 2 of DIP SW to ON/OPEN.
