Set Up How the System Logs Are Sent

By default, no system logs (syslogs) are sent. Before you set up where the system logs are
sent, set up when system logs are sent and enable email notification (see Security Event
Email Notifications on page 77).
To set up where system logs are sent:
1. Select ADVANCED > Administration > Logs.
The Logs screen displays.
2. Specify where system logs are sent by selecting one of the following check boxes:
Broadcast on LAN. The system logs are sent to the broadcast IP address
(255.255.255.255) on the LAN.
Send to this Syslog server IP address. The system logs are sent to the syslog
server that you need to specify in the IP address fields.
3. Click the Apply button.
Your settings are saved.
Manage the Configuration File
The configuration settings of the modem router are stored within the modem router in a
configuration file. You can back up (save) this file to your computer, restore it, or reset it to the
factory default settings.

Back Up Settings

To back up the modem router’s configuration settings:
1. Select ADVANCED > Administration > Backup Settings.
2. Click the Back Up button.
3. Choose a location to store the .cfg file that is on a computer on your network.
A copy of the current settings is saved.
