1.Il soggetto principale nella cornice di messa a fuoco è di dimensioni abbastanza ridotte

Se il soggetto è posizionato in primo piano con uno sfondo distante, e sia lo sfondo che il soggetto sono all'interno delle cornici di messa a fuoco, come mostrato nella Fig. E, è possibile che lo sfondo sia a fuoco e che il soggetto risulti sfocato.

2.Il soggetto principale è un soggetto o una scena con sfondo finemente decorato

Se il soggetto è finemente decorato o a basso contrasto, ad esempio un campo di fiori come illustrato nella Fig. F, potrebbe essere difficile ottenere la messa a fuoco automatica.
