Inserting the memory card upside down or backwards could damage the camera and the memory card.

3 Close the battery-chamber/ memory card slot cover.

B Formatting Memory Cards

The first time you insert a memory card that has been used in another device into this camera, make sure to format it with this camera. Insert the card into the camera, press the dbutton, and select Format card in the setup menu.
