Controlling the Flash: Speedlight Options

Menu Guide

In P, S, A, and M modes, the built-in Speedlight and optional external flash units are controlled according to the options selected for Speedlight

SPEEDLIGHT OPT.

Flash exp. comp. Speedlight cntrl Repeafing flash

Controlling Flash Output: Flash Exp. Comp.

Use this option to adjust flash output by –2.0 EV FLASH EXPOSURE COMP. to +2.0 EV in increments of 1 3 EV.

Options for Optional Speedlights: Speedlight Cntrl

This option is used to control the built-in and optional Speedlights when using optional flash accessories mounted on the camera’s accessory shoe.

SPEEDLIGHT CNTRL

Auto Int & ext active Internal off

Option

Description

Auto

Optional Speedlight fires. If no optional Speedlight is mounted on the

camera, built-in Speedlight will fire instead.

 

Int & ext

Both optional and built-in Speedlights fire (built-in Speedlight will not

active

fire if not required for correct exposure).

Internal

Built-in Speedlight turns off.
