Macro Mode

Macro mode is used for taking pictures of objects as close as 3 cm (1.2 in.). Note that the flash may be unable to light the entire subject at distances of less than 30 cm (1 ft.).

1Press p (macro mode).

The macro menu is displayed.

2 Press the multi selector Hor Ito choose ON and press the k button.

The macro mode icon (F) is displayed.

If a setting is not applied by pressing the k button within a few seconds, the selection will be cancelled.

3 Rotate the zoom control to frame the picture.

The camera can focus at a distance of 3 cm (1.2 in.) at the zoom position at which Fand the zoom indicator glow green (the zoom indicator is positioned to the left of K).

CAutofocus

In macro mode, the camera focuses continuously until focus is locked when the shutter-release button is pressed halfway. Therefore, the sound of lens drive movement can be heard.

Basic Photography and Playback: Auto Mode

The macro mode setting applied in A (auto) mode is stored in the camera’s memory even after the camera is turned off, and reapplied the next time A (auto) mode is selected.
