Shooting Features

Using the Smile Timer

If the camera detects smiling faces, the shutter is automatically released without pressing the

shutter-release button. The skin softening function makes facial skin tones softer.

1Press flexible button 3 (Y Smile

timer).

•U is displayed.

2Frame the picture.

•Point the camera at a person’s face. ➝ “Using Face Detection” (A60)

3Wait for the subject to smile. Do not press the shutter-release button.

•If the camera detects the smiling face of the person framed by the double border, the

shutter is automatically released.

•After the camera releases the shutter, it continues to detect faces and smiles, and releases

the shutter again if it detects a smiling face.

4Stop shooting.

•You can turn off the smile timer by turning the camera off or by setting the self-timer to
