Choose a Photo Size

You can select the combination of image size and image quality (i.e., image compression
ratio) that is used when saving images. The higher the image mode setting, the larger the size
at which images can be printed, and the lower the compression ratio, the higher the quality
of the images, but the number of images that can be saved (A55) decreases.
1The total number of pixels captured, and the number of pixels captured horizontally and vertically.
Example: D Large (10 megapixels) = approx. 10 megapixels, 3648 × 2736 pixels
2Print size at an output resolution of 300 dpi.
Print sizes are calculated by dividing the number of pixels by printer resolution (dpi) and
multiplying by 2.54 cm (1 in.). However, at the same image size, images printed at higher
resolutions will be printed smaller than the size indicated, and those printed at lower resolutions
will be printed larger than the size indicated.
