J Shoot under water

•Use when taking pictures underwater.

•The closest distance at which the camera can focus varies depending on the zoom position. When the zoom is set to a position where the zoom indicator turns green, the camera can focus on subjects as close as about 20 cm (8 in.) from the front of the protective glass.

When the zoom is at the maximum wide-angle position, the camera can focus on subjects as close as about 5 cm (2 in.) from the front of the protective glass.

•The camera focuses on the subject in the center of the frame.

•Digital zoom cannot be used.

•The camera focuses even when the shutter-release button is not pressed halfway. You may hear the sound of the camera focusing.

•The flash may be unable to light the entire subject at distances of less than 50 cm (1 ft 8 in.).

•The flash is set to y Flash off, but the setting can be changed (A 35).

•The self-timer can be set, but YSmile timer is not available (A 37, 39).

I Take a series of pictures

•The camera captures a series of still images that allow you to clearly see detailed movements in a moving subject.

•When the camera detects a person’s face, it focuses on that face (A 60).

•If no faces are detected, the camera focuses on the subject in the center of the frame.

•Press and hold the shutter-release button all the way to capture four images at a rate of about 1.5 frames per second (fps) (when Choose a size > Photo size is set to DLarge (10 megapixels)) (A 54).

•Focus, exposure, and hue are fixed at the values determined with the first image in each series.

•The frame rate with continuous shooting may vary depending upon the current photo size setting, the memory card used, or shooting condition.

•The flash setting is fixed at y Flash off (A 35).

•The self-timer is not available (A 37).
