The frame advance rate varies with the power source used.

1Average frame rate with continuous-servo AF, manual or shutter-priority auto exposure, a shutter speed of 1/250 s or faster, other settings at default values,

and memory remaining in memory buffer. Frame advance rate when recording NEF (RAW) or NEF (RAW) + JPEG pictures with 14-bit selected for NEF (RAW) recording > NEF (RAW) bit depth (0 70) is approximately

2.5 fps. Frame rate drops when vibration reduction (available with VR lenses) is on.

2If On is selected for ISO sensitivity settings > ISO sensitivity auto control in the shooting menu (0 98), frame advance rate in continuous high-speed mode is approximately 7.5 fps.

3Frame rate slows at low temperatures and when batteries are low.

ABuffer Size

The approximate number of images that can be stored in the memory buffer at current settings is shown in the exposure-count displays in the viewfinder and control panel while the shutter- release button is pressed. The illustration at right shows the display when space remains in the buffer for about 37 pictures.
