Shooting Options: The Shooting Menu

The shooting menu contains the following options.

See “Using Camera Menus” (A94) for more information on using

the menus.

* Available in a, b, c, and d modes only.

Only selected options for My menu (A119) will be displayed if My menu is selected for

the CSM/Setup menu option (A118) in the setup menu.

Optimize image* A101, 102

Optimize images according to scene.

Image quality A50

Choose image quality and file format.

Image size A50

Choose image size.

White balance* A52, 103, 104, 105

Adjust colors according to the light source. Fine tune white balance or choose a specific

type of fluorescent lighting from the shooting menu.

ISO sensitivity A53

Raise sensitivity when lighting is poor.

Noise reduction A108

Reduce noise at high ISO sensitivities and slow shutter speeds.

Active D-Lighting A69

Preserve details in highlights and shadows, creating photographs with natural contrast.
