A subject significantly smaller than any of the Matrix Meter- ing sections may not be recognized and integrated into the automatic exposure evaluation. For such subjects, switch to Center-Weighted Metering and make exposure compensa- tion with AE lock lever'or exposure compensation button" in Auto exposure mode, or obtain correct exposure meter reading on the main subject'" in Manual exposure mode.
