Smart Portrait Mode (Capturing Images of Smiling Faces)

When human smiles are detected, the camera automatically releases the shutter without you having to press the shutter-release button (smile timer). You can also use the skin softening option to smooth the skin tones of human faces.

On the shooting screen M A(shooting mode) button M FSmart portrait (A24-25)

1Frame a picture and wait for the subject to smile without pressing the shutter-release button.

When the camera detects a human face, a yellow double border (focus area) is displayed around that face. When the camera has focused on that face, the double border will turn green for a moment and focus is locked.

Up to three faces can be detected. When the camera detects more than one face, a double border is displayed around the face closest to the center of the frame, and single borders are displayed around the other faces.

If the camera detects that the face framed by the double border is smiling, Smile timer (A51) is activated and the shutter is automatically released.

Each time the shutter is released, the camera again initiates face detection and smile detection operations for continuous automatic shooting.

2Stop shooting.

To stop automatic shooting of smiling faces, perform the followings.

-Turn the camera off.

-Set Smile timer (A51) to Off.

-Press the A button and select other shooting mode.
