Using Subject Tracking

Use this mode to focus on a subject that is moving when taking images. When you register a subject, subject tracking begins and the focus area automatically follows the subject.

1Register a subject.

•Align the subject that you want to register with the white

border in the center of the monitor and press the kbutton.

•When the camera is unable to focus on the subject, the

border will glow red. Change the composition and try registering the subject again.

•When the subject is registered, a yellow border (focus area) is displayed around that subject and the camera begins

tracking that subject.

•To cancel subject registration, press the k button.

•If the camera can no longer track the registered subject, the focus area will disappear and the registration will be canceled. Register the subject again.

2Press the shutter-release button fully to take the image.

•The camera focuses on the focus area when the shutter release button is pressed halfway. The focus area will glow green and focus will be locked.

•If the shutter-release button is pressed halfway while the focus area is not displayed, the camera focuses on the area in the center of the frame.
