6. Menu functions

Messages

You can receive and read text messages
on your car phone and write, send, and
save text messages.
Before you can send text messages, you must define necessary
Message settings.
Note
Remember that traffic safety co mes first. Don’t hold the
handset while driving and on ly use the features offere d
by your car phone when traffic conditions permit this.
Note
When sending messages by means of the SMS network
service, your car phone may displa y the words Message
sent. This is only an indication that the message has
been sent to the message centre number programmed
into your car phone. This does not mean that the
message has been received at the intended destination.

Create message

XWith the display in standby, press .
XScroll to Messages, and press .
XScroll to Create message, and press .
XUse the alphanumeric keypad on the car handset to write
your text message. For fu rther information, see
“Alphanumeric keypad” on page15.
XWhen you have finished writing your message, press .
Select from the following options:
Send
To send text messages:
XScroll to Send, and press .
XSelect the phone number of the recipient from the contacts,
or enter the desired number.
XTo send the message, press .
Clear text
To delete entered text, scrol l to Delete, and press .
