30First time installation of the Nortel IP Phone 1535

2Select the parameters to modify by choosing the appropriate configuration options and pressing OK. Enter the values as required. The available configuration options are as follows:

a.Proxy Address: Configure the Proxy server address information.

b.Proxy Port: Configure the IP Phone 1535 to use a specific port to connect to the network proxy server. By default, the proxy port value is 5060.

c.NAT/Timer (OPTIONAL): Modify the timing value used to maintain network connectivity through a firewall. The timing options available are 30 seconds, 45 seconds, 1 minute, 1.5 minutes, 2 minutes, 2.5 minutes, 3 minutes, and 5 minutes. By default, this value is 2.5 minutes.

Configuring VoIP domain name information

In order for the IP Phone 1535 to connect to your installed IP telephony services, you must access and configure the MCS 5100 network domain name parameter.

Step Action

1From the Main Menu, go to Settings > VoIP Settings > Misc. > Domain Name, and press OK to accept selection.

2Enter the value for your network VoIP Server as required, and press OK to confirm changes.

Modifying port assignments

You can configure the parameters with UDP port values used to transport IP Phone 1535 operational information (Audio, Video, and Local), according to the particulars of your network environment.

Step Action

1From the Main Menu, select Settings > VoIP Settings > Misc. > Ports and press OK.

2Select the port type to configure (Audio, Video, or Local), and press OK. The following are the acceptable value ranges by port type:
