Taking Pictures with the Self-Timer

The self-timer is suitable for taking group pictures and reducing the vibration when the shutter-release button is pressed. Timer durations of two or ten seconds can be selected.

When using the self-timer, use of a tripod is recommended. Set Vibration reduction (A175) in the setup menu (A167) to Off when using a tripod to stabilize the camera.
