Scene Mode

Features

bPortrait

Use this mode for portraits in which the main subject stands out clearly. Portrait subjects exhibit smooth, natural-looking skin tones.

•The camera detects and focuses on a face looking toward the camera (Shooting with Face-Priority→ A87).

•If the camera detects multiple faces, the camera focuses on the face closest to the camera.

•If no face is recognized, the camera will focus on the subject in the center focus area.

•Digital zoom is not available.

cLandscape

Use this mode for vivid landscapes and cityscapes.

•Camera focuses at infinity. While the shutter-release button is pressed halfway, the focus area, or focus indicator, glows green. Note, however, that close subjects may not be in focus.

The following icons are used for descriptions in this section: m, flash mode (A28); n, self-timer (A30); p, focus mode (A31); o, exposure compensation (A32); h, AF-assist illumination (A105).

CScene Mode Settings

Adjustments to the flash mode setting, self-timer setting, focus mode setting, and exposure compensation value applied in any scene mode are cancelled and these settings return to their default values whenever another shooting mode is selected or the camera is turned off.
