Basic Camera Setup: The Setup Menu

hAF Assist

Press the dbutton M z(Setup menu) (A 92) Mh AF assist

Change settings for AF-assist illumination.

Auto (default setting)

AF-assist illumination will be used to assist the focus operation when the subject is poorly lit. The illuminator has a range of about 3.5 m (11 ft. 5 in.) at the maximum wide-angle position and 2.5 m (8 ft.) at the maximum telescopic position.

However, the AF-assist illumination will not turn on in some scene modes even if Auto is selected (A 37-41).

Off

Disable this function. The camera may be unable to focus if lighting is poor.

iSound Settings

Press the dbutton M z(Setup menu) (A 92) MiSound settings

Adjust the following sound settings.

Button sound

Turn the button sound On or Off. When On (default setting) is selected, a beep will sound once when operations are completed successfully, twice when the focus has been locked, and three times when an error is detected, and Start-up sound will also play when the camera is turned on.

Shutter sound

Choose shutter sound from On (default setting) or Off.
