zWhen the battery pack is not inserted in the computer
NOTE
zIn the following cases, there may be a difference between the remaining battery
capacity displayed on the indicator and the actual remaining batter y capacity. To
correct this, perform "Battery Recalibration." (Îpage 55)
• The battery indicator light remains red.
• The battery remaining displays 99% and the indicator light is orange for a long
period of time.
• Low battery warning appears after a short p eriod of time.
This may be caused by the use of standby mode for long periods of time. The
battery is discharging while the computer is in standby mo de when the AC adaptor
is not connected.
zThere may be a discrepancy between the % value that is displayed on the taskbar
icon, and [Power Meter] in [Power Options Properties]. This is not a malfunction.
About High Temperature Mode
This computer has a high temperature mode function that prevents the deterio ration of the
battery in high-temperature environments or when using the ful ly charged battery pack for a
long period of time.
To use the high temperature mode function, set [Environment] in the [Main] menu of the
Setup Utility to [Auto]*1 or [High Temperature]. In [Auto] mode, high temperature mode or nor-
mal temperature mode is selected automatically depending on the batter y status (the internal
temperature of the battery pack, etc.) or usage condition (when t he AC adaptor has been
connected for a long period of time).
Note that a level corresponding to a 100% charge for high temperature mode is
approximately equivalent to an 80% charge level for normal temperature mode.
