Listening to Messages with the Base UnitChapter 4
Voice Mail System/Automated Attendant System/ Answering System
If the (VOICE MAIL) button flashes, new messages have been
received in the general delivery mailbox.
The base unit user (operator) will be responsible for handling the following
aspects of the general delivery mailbox:
—checking the mailbox for messages and transferring them to the
appropriate mailboxes.
—erasing unnecessary messages to lengthen remaining recording time for
new messages.
During playback the (VOICE MAIL) button lights.
Listening to only new messages

While the base unit is in the standby
mode, press .
•The unit announces the number of new
messages.

New messages are played.
•During each message playback, the message number is displayed.
•After each message playback, the Message Menu will be announced and
displayed:
“To repeat this message, press 1. To play the
next message, press 2. To erase this message,
press 3. To transfer this message, press 7.”
•At the end of the last message, “This is the
last message” will be heard.

Listening to all messages

While the base unit is in the standby
mode, press and hold until
playback starts.
•The unit announces the total number of messages.

All messages are played.
•During each message playback, the message number is displayed.
•After each message playback, the Message Menu will be announced:
“To repeat this message, press 1. To play the next message, press 2.
To erase this message, press 3. To transfer this message, press 7.”
•The Message Menu will be displayed.
•At the end of the last message, “This is the last message” will be heard.
