[1] Select “AUTO” with [34].

The VHS automatically distinguishes between PAL or NTSC signals. If the picture lacks of colour during AV external recording, playback or recording from DVD to VHS, set to “PAL” or “NTSC”.

When you want to record or play back in black and white, set to “B/W”.

[2]Press [MENU] repeatedly until the setting screen disappears.

OPTION

Press [34] to select the item and press [2 1] to change the setting.

¬To exit the settings screen Press [MENU] twice.

TAPE SELECT

Set the length of tape you are using so the unit can show the correct remaining time (l 23).

AUTO:

E30, E60, E90, E120, E180 and E240 tapes

E195:

E195 tapes

NTSC INPUT SELECT

Select the colour TV system used to record NTSC signals.

AUTO: NTSC [4.43] and [3.58] signals

If the tape has not recorded correctly, select 4.43 or 3.58.

4.43: NTSC 4.43 signals

3.58: NTSC 3.58 signals

Some programmes on NTSC 3.58 system cannot be recorded correctly at this position.

NTSC PB SELECT

Select the colour TV system of the TV used to play back a tape recording NTSC signals.

on PAL TV: TVs that can receive PAL signals

4.43: TVs that can receive NTSC 4.43 signals

3.58: TVs that can receive NTSC 3.58 signals

JET NAVIGATOR (l 19)

ON:

Jet Navigator data automatically registered.

OFF:

Data not registered.

DELETE NAVIDATA (l 19)

NO

ENTER: If you choose this position, press [ENTER] to delete all the Jet Navigator data.

OSD (l 23)

AUTO:

Messages appear on the TV for about 5 seconds

 

when you press [VHS STATUS].

OFF:

Messages do not appear.

DUBBING NORMAL AUDIO (l 38)

Select the audio channel to be recorded on the Normal audio track when dubbing a bilingual DVD.

L: To record the sound from left channel

R:To record the sound from right channel

MONAURAL

Select the sound mode. (For NV-VP33GN only)

ON:

To record the normal sound during a NICAM

 

broadcast or if the stereo sound is distorted due to

 

inferior reception conditions.

OFF:

Normally set at this position.
