Using sound effects

You may experience a reduction in sound quality when these sound fi eld systems are used with some sources. If this occurs, turn the sound fi eld system off.

Using the Advanced Surround

–ECHO

Enjoy a surround-like effect which broadens when playing discs with surround effects. Sound seems to come from speakers on either side of you.

Press [A.SRND] (main unit: [ADVANCED

SURROUND]).

Every time you press the button:

SOUND Using the sound field control

Press [SOUND] (main unit: [SOUND EQ]) to select a setting.

Every time you press [SOUND] on the remote control:

MANUAL EQ HEAVY CLEAR SOFT

EQ-OFF HALL LIVE DISCO

Every time you press [SOUND EQ] on the main unit:

HEAVY CLEAR SOFT DISCO

EQ-OFF HALL LIVE

HEAVY	: Adds punch to rock.
CLEAR	: Clarifi es higher sounds.
SOFT	: For background music.
DISCO	: Reverberates sound to make you feel
	like you are in a disco.
LIVE	: Makes vocals more alive.
HALL	: Expands sound to make you feel like you
	are in a hall.
EQ-OFF	: Canceled (no effect is added)

MANUAL EQ: ( see right).

To check the current setting

Press [SOUND] (main unit: [SOUND EQ]).

	SOUND Using the Manual Equalizer
		(MANUAL EQ) (by remote control only)
Create your own sound quality effects.
1	Press [SOUND] to select “MANUAL EQ”.
2	(			)
		Within 12 seconds or so
	Change the sound quality with the cursor
						OPERATIONS
	buttons.
	➀ Select the sound range to be adjusted with [ ]
		or [ ].
		BASS	MID		TREBLE
	➁ Adjust the level with [ ] or [ ].					OTHER	DANSK
		(–3 to +3)

Repeat step 2 to set the desired sound quality.

The original display is restored on the display panel in about 3 seconds.

To cancel

Press [SOUND] to select “EQ-OFF”.

The changes you make are stored and automatically recalled the next time you select “MANUAL EQ”.

S.SOUND EQ Using the Super Sound Equalizer	FRANÇAIS
Press [S.SOUND EQ] (main unit: [SUPER SOUND EQ]).
Turning on the super sound equalizer gives you a more
powerful sound.

The “S.SOUND EQ” indicator lights up.

To cancel

Press [S.SOUND EQ] (main unit: [SUPER SOUND EQ]) to turn off the indicator.

	Using the subwoofer	- 4
		LANG
1	Press and hold [–SUBWOOFER] (main unit:
	press [SUBWOOFER]).
	Current setting appears on the display.
2	While current setting is displayed
	Press and hold [–SUBWOOFER] (main unit:
	press [SUBWOOFER]) to change the setting.
	Every time you press and hold the button:
	SUB W1 SUB W2 SUB W3

The setting will change only if you press and hold

[–SUBWOOFER] right after the current setting is displayed.
