CONFORMITÉ AUX CODES

L'installation doit être conforme aux codes locaux, ou, en leurs absences, au National Fuel Gas Code, ANSI Z 223.1/NFPA 54 et/ou CSA B149.1, Natural Gas and Propane Installations Codes. Le chauffe-eau, une fois installé, doit être raccordé à une prise de terre et fixé selon les codes locaux, ou en l'absence de ces codes, aux États-Unis, avec le National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA 7 ; au Canada, avec le Code canadien d'électricité, CSA C 22.1.

MISE EN GARDE

La Commission de la sécurité des produits de consommation américaine (Consumer Product Safety Commission) avise que la température élevée de l'eau peut être dangereuse pour certaines personnes. Voir les recommandations ci dessous pour le réglage de la température de l'eau.

1.La température des spa et bains tourbillons ne doit jamais dépasser 104 °F (40 °C). Une température de 100 °F (38 °C) est considérée sûre pour un adulte en bonne santé. Une attention toute particulière doit être accordée aux jeunes enfants. L'immersion prolongée en eau chaude peut causer l'hyperthermie.

2.L'absorption de boissons alcoolisées avant ou pendant l'utilisation d'un spa ou d'un bain tourbillon peut provoquer un effet de somnolence puis d'inconscience et par conséquent la noyade.

3.Les femmes enceintes doivent être vigilantes car l'immersion dans une eau supérieure à 100 °F (38 °C) peut causer des lésions au fœtus durant les trois premiers mois de la grossesse, (causant ainsi la naissance d'un bébé avec lésions cérébrales ou difforme). Les femmes enceintes doivent s'en tenir à une température maximale de 100 °F (38 °C).

4.Avant d'entrer dans un spa ou un bain tourbillon, l'utilisateur doit vérifier la température à l'aide d'un thermomètre précis. Les thermostats de spa ou de bain tourbillon peuvent donner des températures avec une marge d'erreur allant jusqu'à 4 °F (-15 °C).

5.Les personnes présentant antécédents médicaux de maladies cardiaques, de problèmes circulatoires, de diabète et de troubles de tension artérielle doivent prendre conseil auprès de leur médecin avant d'utiliser les spas ou les bains tourbillon.

6.Les personnes prenant des médicaments entraînant des effets de somnolence, tels que tranquillisants, anti-histaminiques, ou anti-coagulants ne doivent pas utiliser les spas ou les bains tourbillon.

MISE EN GARDE

En cas de surchauffe ou si la conduite de gaz ne peut être fermée, fermez la soupape manuelle d'arrivée du gaz. Ne pas utiliser ce chauffe-eau si une pièce quelle qu'elle soit a pris l'eau. Contacter immédiatement un technicien d'entretien qualifié pour examiner le chauffe-eau et remplacer toute pièce du système de contrôle et du contrôle du gaz qui a pris l'eau.
