The “Battery depleted” error message may appear when you turn on the power after purchasing the camera or after replacing the batteries if the batteries had been removed for a long time. However, this is not an error. Wait a short period and then turn the power switch on again, the power should come on normally. If this happens, the date and time, recorded pixels and other settings may have been initialized, reset the various settings according to the procedures in “Setting the Shooting Functions” (p.65 to 81) and “Camera Settings” (p.116 to 129).
