Preferences
1 Press SETUP.
[ General Setup ] menu is displayed.
2 Press V to select [ Preferences ] , then
press B.
3 Select an option, then press OK.

4 Select a setting, then press OK.
To return to the previous menu, press
b.
To exit the menu, press SETUP.

Stop disc play before you can access to [Preferences].

[ Audio ]
Select the default audio language for
DVDs.
[ Subtitle ]
Select the default subtitle language for
DVDs.
[ Disc Menu ]
Select the menu language for DVDs.
Note
If the language yo u have set is not availa ble on the
disc, the disc us es its own defaul t language.
For some DVDs, th e subtitle/au dio language can o nly
change from the d isc menu.
To select the langu ages that are not li sted in the
menu, selec t [ Others ]. Then c heck the Langua ge
Code list at the b ack of this user man ual and enter
the respect ive language code .
[ Parental Control ]
Restricts access to DVDs that are
unsuitable for children. These types of
DVDs must be recorded with ratings.
Press 1. OK.
Select a rat ing level, then press 2. OK.
Press the 3. numeric buttons to ente r
the password.
Note
Rated DVDs above t he level you set in [ Parental
Control ] requi re a password to b e played.
The ratings a re country- dependent. To all ow all discs
to play, select ‘8’.
Some DVDs have ra tings printed o n them but are
not recorded wi th ratings. T his function h as no
effect on such DV Ds.
Tip
You can set or change th e password, go to
[ Preferences ] > [ Pa ssword ].
[ PBC ]
For VCDs/SVCDs recorded with PBC
(playback control), you can access the disc
content through an interactive menu.
[ On ] – an index menu is displayed
when you load a disc for play.
[ Off ] – skip the menu and start play
from the  rst track.
