If,contrary to expectation, you have any problems using this
videorecorder, it may be caused by one of the reasons
mentionedbelow. You can also call the customer service
centrein your country.
Youwill find the phone number in the enclosed guarantee
leaflet.
Yourvideo recorder does not respond to any button being
pressed:
•Thereis no power supply: check the power supply
•Aprogrammed recording is currently being made: cancel the
programmedrecording with the TV/STANDBYmbutton.
•Continuousplayback is on: switch the continuous playback off.
•Thereis a technical problem: switch off the mains power supply
for30 seconds, then switch it on again. If this does not have any
effect,you can:
1.Switch off the mains power supply again.
2.Then switch it on whilst holding down the STANDBY mbutton
onthe video recorder.
3.Release the button when ’MENU’ appears on the video
recorderdisplay. All the information stored (TV channels, time
anddate, TIMER) will be cleared.
Cassetteis jammed in the video recorder:
•Don’tuse force. Pull out the mains plug for a moment.
Remotecontrol does not work:
•Remotecontrol not pointed toward the video recorder: point it at
thevideo recorder.
•Batterieshave run out: change the batteries.
•Youhave given the wrong remote control command: read
’Switchingremote control command’ in chapter ’Additional
functions’.
Nopicture when you play a cassette:
•Thereis no recording on the cassette: change the cassette.
•Youhave chosen the wrong programme number on the TV for
playingcassette: on the TV, select the correct programme
numberfor the video recorder.
•Thecable connecting the TV set and the video recorder has
comeloose: check the cable.
Poorpicture quality when you play a cassette:
•YourTV set is not properly adjusted.
•Thecassette badly worn or of poor quality: use new cassette.
•Trackingis not properly adjusted or the video heads are dirty:
turnto chapter ’PLAYBACK’ and read the section ’Cleaning the
videoheads’.
Thevideo recorder will not record:
•TheTV channel you want to record is not stored or you selected
thewrong programme number: check TV channels stored.
•Youhave loaded a cassette which cannot be recorded on: undo
theerase protection on the cassette.
Programmedrecording does not work:
•Youhave not set the TIMER properly: check the TIMER blocks.
•Youhave programmed the wrong time or date: check time and
date.
•Youhave put in a cassette that cannot be recorded on: undo the
eraseprotection on the cassette.
•’PDC’or ’VPS’ switched on but ’PDC/VPS time’ wrong: enter PDC
orVPS time exactly to the minute. Have your aerial checked.
•Aftera ’programmed recording with ’SHOWVIEW’, the
programmenumber of the TIMER block will not agree with the
requiredprogramme number: when you have confirmed the
SHOWVIEWprogramming number, confirm the TIMER block by
pressingthe TIMER button.Then change the programme
numberdisplayed in the ’PROG’ entry field and confirm by
pressingthe TIMER button.
Thereis picture or sound interference on TV reception:
•Turnto chapter ’ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS’ and read ’Poor TV
reception- optimising the modulator’ and ’Switching off the
modulator’.
•Haveyour aerial checked.
