DYoucan switch on with the STOPhbutton, the
0-9 buttonsor by putting in a cassette.
DIfyou do not use the video recorder for a few
minutes,it will switch to standby automatically.
Pleaseread the section ’Automatic switch-off’ in
chapterADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS.
DIfyou have switched the video recorder off with the
STANDBYmbutton, the time will show in the display,
forinstance , ’18:00’.
Ifthe clock has not been set, ’--:--’ will appear.
DKeepyour video recorder connected to the mains at
alltimes to ensure that programmed recordings can
bemade and that the television works normally.
DIfthe video recorder is not plugged into the mains, it
willusually store TV channels and timer information
fora year, and date information for seven hours.

Saving energy

Thereare two ways to switch to standby.
Switchingto standby with clock display: Switch to standby
usingthe STANDBYmbutton.The time will be displayed.
Tosave energy: Press the STANDBYmbuttontwice. The time
willdisappear from the display.

Emergency interrupt

Youcan use the STANDBYmbuttonon the video recorder or
theremote control to interrupt any function.
Soif you are having operating problems, you can just interrupt
thefunction and start again.
Andyou can practise operating your set without any worries.
Nomatter which buttons you press, you cannot damage it.

The symbols on your video recorder display

Thesesymbols can light up on your video recorder display:
Videoprogramming system / programme delivery
control:when a VPS or PDC code is being
transmitted.
Thisis where the current operating mode is shown
asa symbol.
Whenyou are recording a progamme.
Whenyou have programmed a recording or when a
programmedrecording is being made.
LP Whenyou play a tape that has been recorded in LP
(LongPlay).
Whenyou have put a cassette in the video recorder.
Whenyou have switched on the child lock.
Whena satellite recording has been programmed.
DEC Whena decoder has been allocated to the TV
channelyou have currently selected.
Displayof programme number / tape position /
channelname / function.
hTapeposition in hours.
mTapeposition in minutes.
sTapeposition in seconds, but only if the display
mode’COUNTER’ has been selected.
Whenyou play a cassette that has been recorded
withhifi sound, or when a hifi sound is transmitted.
Whenthe video recorder recognizes a Nicam audio
signal.
Thisshows the sound track you have selected.
Thisshows the audio control(L-left channel/R-right
channel).
