Basic Operations
Ifyou use a Bluetooth adapter (e.g. CD-
BTB200),you can connect a cellular phone fea-
turingBluetooth wireless technology to this
unitfor hands-free, wireless calls, even while
driving.
Important
!Sincethis unit is on standby to connect with
yourcellular phone via Bluetooth wireless
technology,using this unit without running
theengine can result in battery drainage.
!Advancedoperations that require your atten-
tionsuch as dialing numbers on the monitor,
usingphone book, etc., are prohibited while
youare driving. When you need to use these
advancedoperations, stop your vehicle in a
safeplace.
Notes
!Equalizercurve for the phone source is fixed.
!Whenselecting the phone source, you can
onlyoperate FADER/BALANCE (balance ad-
justment)in the audio menu.

Setting up for hands-free phoning

Beforeyou can use the hands-free phoning
functionyou must set up the unit for use with
yourcellular phone. This entails establishing a
Bluetoothwireless connection between this
unitand your phone, registering your phone
withthis unit, and adjusting the volume level.
1 Connection
Fordetailed instructions on connecting your
phoneto this unit via Bluetooth wireless tech-
nology,refer to Connecting a cellular phone on
page37.
#Yourphone should now be temporarily con-
nected.However, to make best use of the technol-
ogy,we recommend you register the phone to
thisunit.
2 Registration
Toregister your temporarily connected phone,
referto Registering a connected cellular phone
onpage 38.
3 Volumeadjustment
Adjustthe earpiece volume on your cellular
phonefor comfort. When adjusted, the volume
levelis memorized in this unit as the default
setting.
#Callersvoice volume and ring volume may
varydepending on the type of cellular phone.
#Ifthe difference between the ring volume and
callersvoice volume is big, overall volume level
maybecome unstable.
#Beforedisconnecting the cellular phone from
thisunit, make sure to adjust the volume to a
properlevel. If the volume is muted (zero level) on
yourcellular phone, the volume level of your cel-
lularphone remains muted even after the cellular
phoneis disconnected.
