Protecting your unit fromtheft
Thefront panel can be detached from the
headunit and stored in the protective case
providedto discourage theft.
!Ifthe front panel is not detached fromthe
headunit within five seconds of turning off
theignition, a warning tone will sound.
!Youcan turn off the warning tone. See
Switchingthe warning tone on page 49.

!Neveruse force or grip the display and the
buttonstoo tightly when removing or attach-
ing.
!Avoidsubjecting the front panel to excessive
shocks.
!Keepthe front panel out of direct sunlight and

Removing the front panel

1 PressOPEN to open the front panel.
2 Gripthe left side of the front panel and
pullit gently outward.
Takecare not to grip it too tightly or to drop
thefront panel and protect it from contact
withwater or other fluidsto prevent perma-
nentdamage.
3 Putthe front panel into the protective
caseprovided for safe keeping.
