On the default setting, the recorder automatically detects whether the video signal from the built-in tuner or from one of the external inputs is 3.58 NTSC, PAL–60, PAL or SECAM. You may, however, occasionally need to set it manually if the picture is not displayed properly.

1Select ‘Input Colour System’, then ‘Next Screen’.

2Use the CHANNEL +/– buttons or the INPUT SELECT button to switch between the built-in tuner and the external inputs.

3 Use the (cursor left/right) buttons to change the input colour system for the current input or built-in tuner.

If your TV is compatible with progressive-scan component video, set this Progressive for the highest quality picture. If your TV is not compatible with progressive-scan video, leave it set to Interlace.
