Component video input setting (page 40)

Specify the components to be assigned to the component video inputs (below).

•Component video 1 input setting

•Component video 2 input setting

Surround back channel input setting (page 40)

Specify the number of surround back inputs you have connected.

Digital input settings (page 41)

Specify the components to be assigned to the video and digital inputs (below).

•Coaxial digital input 1 setting

•Coaxial digital input 2 setting

•Optical digital input 1 setting

•Optical digital input 2 setting

4Use ’ or ‘ to adjust the setting. The setting is entered automatically.

5Repeat steps 3 and 4 to set other surround modes.

6When you’re done, press ENTER to exit.

The setting display is automatically exited after 20 seconds of inactivity.

Speaker setting

• Default setting: S (all speakers)

You must let the receiver know how many speakers you have, and how big they are. The size you choose (large or small) determines how much bass is sent from the receiver to the speakers.

In the display, F, C, and S refer to front, center, and surround speakers respectively. Speaker size is denoted as L for large speakers, S for small speakers, and (asterisk) if no speaker is connected.

•If the cone size (diameter) of the speaker is larger than 5 inches, set the speaker size to L.

•If you’re not using a subwoofer, we recommend setting the front speakers to L.

•Cycle through the available choices using ’ or ‘ and choose a configuration that matches your speaker setup.

One of the following configurations should match your setup:

		FS-CS-SS

FL-C		-SS	FS-CS-S


FL-C		-SL	FS-C -SS

FL-CS-SFL-CL-SL

FL-CS-SS FL-CL-SS

FL-CS-SL FL-CL-S

Surround back speaker setting

• Default setting: S

You must let the receiver know if surround back speaker(s) have been connected, and how big they are. The size you choose (large or small) determines how much bass is sent from the receiver to the speakers. If you have connected a surround back subwoofer, you should select the surround back subwoofer setting (SB SUBWF) from the options. Choose(asterisk) if no speaker is connected.

•Use ’ or ‘ to select SB L, SB S, SB or

SB SUBWF.
