4.11 MAC Addresses
4.11.1 Dynamic Address Table
Use this page to set the Address Ageing Timeout for the MAC Address database, and to display information about entries in the MAC Address database. These entries are used by the transparent bridging function to determine how to forward a received frame. The screen in Figure

Ageing Timeout Configuration (seconds)
The MAC Address database contains static entries, which are never aged out, and dynamically learned entries, which are removed if they are not updated within a given time. You specify that time by entering a value for the Address Ageing Timeout. You may enter any number of seconds between 0 and 65535.
IEEE 802.1D recommends a default of 300 seconds, which is the factory default.
MAC Address Table
The MAC Address Table includes the following fields:
•MAC Address entries count
•VID
•Ports
•Type
Display the MAC address count numbers.
The VLAN ID for which the table is queried.
Specifies the port numbers for which the table is queried.
The MAC Address type for which the table is queried. There’re two possible type-
•Dynamic - Addresses are associated with ports by learning the ports from the frame source address.
•Static - Static addresses are manually configured. Packets received with the destinated MAC address mathch the port static MAC setting
