TROUBLE-SHOOTING (PWBS-14 Band Saw)
PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSE SOLUTION
Saw stops or will not start 1. Saw unplugged 1. Check pl ug connections

Does not make accurate 1. Stop not adjusted correctly 1. Check bl ade with square and

adjust pointer
3. Miter gauge out of adjustment 3. Adj ust miter gauge
Blade wanders during cut 1. Fence not aligned with blade 1. Check and adj ust fence
2. Warped wood 2. Select another piece of wood
3. Excessive feed rate 3. Reduce f eed rate
4. Incorrect blade for cut 4. Change bl ade t o correct type
5. Blade tension not set properly 5. Set blade tension according to
blade size

Saw makes unsatisfactory 1. Dull blade 1. Repl ac e bl ade
