WARNING! Do not operate your new power chair for the first time without completely reading and understanding this owner’s manual.

Your powerchairisastate-of-the-artlife-enhancementdevicedesignedtoincreasemobility.Prideprovidesanextensivevarietyof productstobestfittheindividualneedsofthepowerchairuser.Pleasebeawarethatthefinalselectionandpurchasingdecisionregarding thetypeofpowerchairtobeusedistheresponsibilityofthepowerchairuser,whoiscapableofmakingsuchadecision,andhis/her healthcareprofessional(i.e.,medicaldoctor,physicaltherapist,etc.).

Thecontentsofthismanualarebasedontheexpectationthatamobilitydeviceexperthasproperlyfittedthepowerchairtotheuserand hasassistedtheprescribinghealthcareprofessionaland/ortheauthorizedPrideproviderintheinstructionprocessfortheuseofthe product.

Therearecertainsituations,includingsomemedicalconditions,wherethepowerchairuserwillneedtopracticeoperatingthepower chairinthepresenceofatrainedattendant.Atrainedattendantcan bedefinedasafamilymemberorcareprofessionalspeciallytrained inassistingapowerchairuserinvariousdailylivingactivities.

Asyoubeginusingyourpowerchairduringdailyactivities,youwillprobablyencountersituationsinwhichyouwillneedsomepractice. Simplytakeyourtimeandyouwillsoonbeinfullandconfidentcontrolasyoumaneuverthroughdoorways,onandoffofelevators,up anddownramps,andovermoderateterrain.

Belowaresomeprecautions,tips,andothersafetyconsiderationsthatwillhelptheuserbecomeaccustomedtooperatingthepower chairsafely.

Modifications

Pridehasdesignedandengineeredyourpowerchairtoprovidemaximummobilityandutility.Awiderangeofaccessoriesisavailable fromyourauthorizedPrideprovidertofurthercustomizeyourpowerchairtobettersuityourneedsand/orpreferences.However,under nocircumstancesshouldyoumodify,add,remove,ordisableanyfeature,part,orfunctionofyourpowerchair.

WARNING! Do not modify your power chair in any way not authorized by Pride. Unauthorized modifications may result in personal injury and/or damage to your power chair.

Pre-Ride Safety Check

Gettoknowthefeelofyourpowerchairanditscapabilities.Priderecommendsthatyouperformasafetycheckbeforeeachuseto makesureyourpowerchairoperatessmoothlyandsafely.SeeVIII.“CareandMaintenance.”

Performthefollowinginspectionspriortousingyourpowerchair:

νCheckforpropertireinflation.Maintain35psiineachtire(ifequippedwithpneumatictires).

νCheckallelectricalconnections.Makesuretheyaretightandnotcorroded.

νCheckallcontrollerconnectionstotheelectronicstray.Makesuretheyaresecuredproperly.

νCheckthebrakes.SeeVIII.“CareandMaintenance.”

νCheckbatterycharge.SeeVI.“BatteriesandCharging.”
