HOW TO USE A WEIGHT LOSS WORKOUT OR A
PERFORMANCE WORKOUT
1. Insert the key into the console.
See HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER on page
14.
2. Personalize console settings if desired.

3. Select a weight loss workout or a performance
workout.
To select one of the eight weight loss workouts or
one of the eight performance workouts, press the
Weight Loss Workouts button or the Performance
Workouts button until the name of the desired pre-
set workout appears in the display. Note: To return
to a previous display, press the Back button.
When you se-
lect a weight
loss workout or
a performance
workout, the
display will
show the name, the maximum incline setting, the
total time, and the maximum speed setting of the
workout. In addition, a profile of the speed settings
of the workout will appear in the display. If you se-
lect a weight loss workout, the display will also
show the approximate number of calories you will
burn.
Each preset workout is divided into one-minute
segments. One speed setting and one incline set-
ting are programmed for each segment. Note: The
same speed and/or incline setting may be pro-
grammed for consecutive segments.
4. Pressthe Start button to start the workout.
A moment after you press the Start button, the
treadmill will automatically adjust to the first speed
and incline settings of the workout. Holdthe
handrailsand begin walking.
Duringthe program, the profile will show your
progress.The flashing segment of the profile repre-
sentsthe current segment of the program. The
heightof the flashing segment indicates the speed
settingfor the current segment. At the end of each
segment,a series of tones will sound and the next
segmentof the profile will begin to flash and the
speedand incline setting will appear in the display
to alertyou. The speed and incline will automati-
callyadjust to the speed and incline settings pro-
grammedfor the next segment.
The program will continue in this way until the last
segmentof the profile flashes in the display and
the last segment ends. The walking belt will then
slow to a stop.
If the speed or incline setting for the current seg-
ment is too high or too low, you can manually over-
ride the setting by pressing the speed and incline
buttons. Every few times a speed button is
pressed, an additional indicatorwill appear or dis-
appearin the current segment column. However,
whenthe current segment of the program ends,
thetreadmill will automatically adjust to the
speedand incline settings for the next segment.
To stop the program at any time, press the Stop
button. To restartthe program, press the Start but-
ton or the Speed increase button. The walkingbelt
willbegin to move at 1 mph. When the next seg-
mentof the program begins, the treadmill will auto-
maticallyadjust to the speed and incline settingsfor
thatsegment.
5. Followyour progress with the display.
See step6 on page 15.
Insteadof displaying pace, the display will show
yourexercise intensity in METs. One MET is the
amountof energy you use while resting.
6. Measure your heart rate if desired.
See step 7 on page 15.
7. Turn on the fan if desired.
See step 8 on page 15.
8. Whenyou are finished exercising, remove the
key fromthe console.
