Limiter

During normal operation, the limiter does not affect the audio signal and is, in fact, inaudible. It will allow brief clipping of peaks and will only activate when continuous, hard clipping occurs. The limiter will then reduce the audio signal enough to minimize the amount of clipping. When the signal amplitude decreases enough that clipping ends, the limiter will deactivate and cease its gain reduction.

En utilisation normale, le limiteur n'affecte pas le signal audio et il est en fait inaudible. Il permet l'écrêtement des transitoires et n'entre en action que lors d'écrêtement prolongé. Dans ce cas, le limiteur réduit le niveau du signal audio de façon à minimiser l'écrêtement. Lorsque l'amplitude du signal diminue assez pour que cesse l'ècrêtement, le limiteur se retire et cesse la réduction de gain.

Le circuit Output Averaging™ protège les transistors de sortie contre les court-circuits et les charges difficiles.

Protection thermique

Si la température du radiateur devait dépasser 90° C, les sorties seraient coupées jusqu’à ce que l’amplificateur ait suffisament refroidi.
