11.Position each line section in the slots on either side of the retaining ring (see Figure 4-20).

12.Hold the retaining ring in place and make sure the line remains in the retaining ring slots. Rotate the spool while holding the retain- ing ring in place. The line will roll onto the spool (see Figure 4-21). IMPORTANT: Make sure to rotate the spool so the line winds onto spool in the direction indicated on the spool top. Wind line until four inches of line remains outside the spool.

13.Replace spool onto spool spring and press spool down. Lay exposed trim- mer line into slots on spool housing (see Figure 4-22).

14.Align tabs on spool cover with slots in spool housing. Replace spool cover onto spool housing and snap into place (see Figure 4-23).
