6Teste o funcionamento da válvula vedando a peça giratória com a mão e garantindo que ainda consegue respirar livremente.

7Ligue a tubagem principal de ar à peça giratória (Fig. B-6). Seguidamente, ligue ao gerador de fluxo a extremidade livre da tubagem de ar e ligue o gerador.

8Deite-se em posição de dormir. Rode o botão do suporte de testa

(Fig. B-7) até sentir que a máscara se encontra uniformemente posicionada na sua face. A máscara deve estar confortável, com uma vedação satisfatória. Aperte suavemente as correias inferiores do arnês se necessário.

•A almofada da máscara apresenta dobras? As dobras podem permitir que o ar se escape da máscara.

•Limpou recentemente a almofada da máscara? As gorduras na almofada podem afectar a vedação.

•As correias do arnês estão demasiado apertadas? Procure não mexer nas correias superiores do arnês depois de terem sido apertadas pelo seu médico.

•O botão pode necessitar de um ligeiro ajuste. Registe o parâmetro do botão quando estiver confortável.

•A máscara parece-lhe demasiado próxima dos olhos? Pode necessitar de uma máscara mais pequena.

Se não conseguir resolver nenhum problema, procure na secção Detecção e Resolução de Problemas, ou fale com o seu médico. Pode necessitar de outro tamanho de máscara.
