When images are captured with this camera, a folder is
automatically created and the captured images are stored
inthe new folder. Each folder name consists of a sequential
number from 100 to 999 and a string of 5 characters.
You can change the folder name in [Folder Name] of
the D2 menu.
1Select [Folder Name] in D2 menu and press D.
The [Folder Name] screen appears.
2Select a folder name
andpress E.
Proceed to Step 5 if you do not need to change the folder
name.
3Press B, and then press D.
The text-entry screen appears.
4Change the text.
Enter 5 single-byte alphanumeric characters.
Refer to Steps 3 and 4 of “Editing a Setting Name” (p.75)
forhow to enter te xt.
5Press F twice.
t Memo
A folder with a new number is created when the folder name
is changed.
A maximum of 500 images (100 images for Eye-Fi card) can
be stored in a single folder. When the number of captured
images exceeds 500, a new folder is created with the number
following the number of the folder currently being used.
InExposure Bracketing shooting, images will be stored
inthe same folder until shooting is completed.
When [Create New Folder] is selected in the D2 menu,
afolder is created with a new number when the next image
issaved. When a memory card is inserted in both SD1
andSD2, a new folder is created on both memory cards.
When [Select multiple images] or [Select a folder] of [RAW
Development] is performed, a folder with a new number
iscreated, and the JPEG images are stored in the new folder.

u Caution
The maximum folder number is 999. After the folder number
reaches 999, you cannot capture new images if you attempt
to change the folder name or create a new folder, or when
thefile name number reaches 9999.

Date
The two digits of the month and day on which
thepicture was taken are assigned after the folder
number. (Default setting)
[MMDD] appears according to the date format set
in[Date Adjustment].
Example) 101_0125: for images taken on
January25th
PENTX
The character string “PENTX” is assigned after
thefolder number.
